300 W HF Linear Amplifier
Manufactured by UA6CGU (Valery) in European Russia. Specified 80 m to 10 m for 300 W PEP.
Only operated by me over 20 m to 10 m including 17 m. Well made and good neutralisation. They are frequently driven to 200 W each in commercial amplifier implementations and are pretty rugged.Meters used are obviously what was available and are not calibrated but monitor anode current and output. Circuit used is quite standard with voltage multiplier for the HT directly from the mains and isolated transformer feeds for the filaments and control voltages. Standby switch provided but needs a contact closure on a rear DIN connector for relay switching from RF bypass to TX. Requires 30 - 40 W drive for 280 - 320 W output depending on band. Load must be tuned for a VSWR better than 2:1. Supplied with mains lead terminated in European two-pin plug, circuit schematic and instructions in Russian. I have added a poor translation. Size 38 cm x 31 cm x 10 cm, 8 kg. This item is for a user experienced with valve amplifiers or has an "Elmer" to help. The HT line is a potentially lethal 1300 Vdc from 240 Vac mains, the unit is ungrounded, and there is no ALC to protect from overdrive. Use at your own risk. The item "300 W HF Linear Amplifier" is in sale since Sunday, December 25, 2016.
