P rofessionally made (in the USA) 1 kW plus (average power) linear VHF amplifier (from about 50 to 90 MHz). The peak power can be much higher, because of the television sync pulse. Removed from a working analog channel 5 (76 to 82 MHz) television transmitter. Each of the four amplifier modules uses 4 LDMOS wide-band high power RF transistors. The heavy duty heat-sink is an integral part of each amplifier module. Requires + 50 volts at high current and +15 volts bias at very low current; slightly lower drain voltage should be just fine. This amplifier was designed to run 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, so it's conservatively designed, and should be capable of a lot more output power, if you cool it properly. Each amplifier is clean and undamaged. Requires a good 50 ohm load on the output and a bunch of air blowing out of the large built-in heat-sinks. Thermistor mounted in each heat sink to reduce the bias, if the temperature gets too hot. There also is dual directional coupler on the amplifier to guard against excessively high SWR.
Air flow and a proper load are a must, or you may ruin the amplifier. This should make a really good 6 or 4 meter amplifier or could be used for other purposes in the low VHF band. There are several extensive articles about these amplifiers on the internet; please look up Harris Platinum amplifier.
This also could be modified for other frequency bands including the FM band (is not FCC certified for use in the US as a stand-alone amplifier), but I don't offer any data or guarantees for other than amateur radio use. What you are getting is a working, professionally made linear high power wide-band linear amplifier, with built-in protection; a bias network and 4 large heat-sinks.
You may need to change the wide-band RF components to change frequency, based on your needs. I would be very happy to try to answer any questions. The amplifier weighs over 28 pounds. It really doesn't serve any useful purpose for most users. The limited documentation that I have will be included as well as a cable with the special RF connector on one end and a type N male on the other.
